Liposuction

Target Stubborn Fat, Refine Your Shape

Sometimes, no matter how healthy your lifestyle, certain areas just won’t budge. Liposuction can help refine these stubborn zones—sculpting a smoother, more proportionate silhouette.

At Forsyth Plastic Surgery, our board-certified plastic surgeons use liposuction to contour areas like the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, neck, and more. This isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about helping your shape reflect how you feel.

Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, but it can be a powerful finishing tool for patients already near their target weight.

What to Expect

Your Consultation

Every body is different. At your consultation, we’ll evaluate your goals, discuss the areas you want to target, and determine if liposuction—or a combined approach—makes the most sense.  You’ll also learn about incision placement, recovery, and skin elasticity considerations.

Surgery & Recovery

Liposuction is performed in our accredited on-site surgery center under general or local anesthesia, depending on the number and size of the treatment areas. In some cases, Renuvion®, an advanced skin-tightening technology may be used during the procedure to tighten and contract skin for a smoother, more sculpted contour.

  • Downtime: Most patients return to light activity in 3–7 days
  • Compression garment: Worn for several weeks to reduce swelling and support contour
  • Final results: Visible gradually over 1–3 months as swelling resolves

Some patients combine liposuction with a tummy tuck, neck lift, or body lift for a more
comprehensive result. We’ll walk you through all options.

Common Questions

Is liposuction a weight loss procedure?

No. Liposuction is ideal for patients close to their target weight who want to reduce stubborn pockets of fat.

Will fat come back?

Removed fat cells are gone permanently—but weight gain can affect remaining cells. A stable weight will help maintain your result.

Can liposuction tighten loose skin?

Not directly. If skin laxity is a concern, we may recommend combining liposuction with a lift procedure or other treatment. We’ll assess this during your consult.

What about non-surgical options?

We offer non-surgical fat reduction through CoolSculpting® at The VISTA Med Spa for mild contouring. We’ll guide you to the best approach based on your goals.
