Top Surgery in Winston-Salem, NC

Gender-Affirming Care, Designed for You

Top Surgery in Winston-Salem, NC

Top surgery is a gender-affirming chest procedure that reshapes the chest to better align with your gender identity. This may include creating a flatter, more masculine or nonbinary contour or creating a fuller, more traditionally feminine chest.

No matter your goals, top surgery can be a meaningful and affirming step in helping your outward appearance reflect who you truly are.

At Forsyth Plastic Surgery, we provide inclusive gender-affirming chest surgery for transgender men, transgender women, and non-binary individuals in a respectful, private environment. Our board-certified plastic surgeons tailor every surgical plan to your body, your lived experience, and your transition goals.

We’re here to listen, educate, and provide care that’s truly centered on you.

Common Questions

Do I need a letter from a mental health provider?

We follow WPATH-informed guidelines and will review documentation requirements during your consult.

Is nipple grafting always required?

Not always. It depends on your anatomy and the surgical technique used. We’ll review options and outcomes in detail with you.

What about breast implants for MTF/MTN patients?

If your goal is a more feminine chest, we’ll discuss implant types, sizes, incisions, and expected outcomes during your consultation.

Is top surgery covered by insurance?

In some cases, yes. While FPS is out-of-network for most plans, we can provide you with necessary documentation to submit to your insurer.

Can I combine top surgery with another procedure?

Possibly. We’ll assess this based on your goals and what’s safe to do in one procedure.

How much does top surgery cost?

The cost of top surgery varies based on the type of procedure, your personalized surgical plan, and whether insurance provides coverage. During your consultation, your surgeon will discuss your treatment options and provide a detailed estimate based on your individual needs.

Does Forsyth Plastic Surgery offer financing?

Yes. Forsyth Plastic Surgery offers financing options to help make treatment more accessible. Our team can discuss available payment solutions during your consultation and help you choose the option that best fits your needs.

How soon can I return to work after top surgery?

Recovery timelines vary depending on the procedure performed and the nature of your job. Many patients with sedentary occupations can return to work within one to two weeks, while physically demanding jobs may require additional recovery time. Your surgeon will provide personalized guidance based on your procedure and healing progress.
