SCAR REVISION

Scarring is a natural result of healing after injury or surgery, and can be unpredictable. No surgery is truly “scarless”, and even wounds or incisions that heal well can have scars associated with them. Some scars are more visible, raised, or firm than others, and some can be associated with functional impairments and other symptoms.

Scar revision is performed with the goals of improving appearance, function, or symptoms. The scar may be treated with both surgical and non-surgical therapy (including lasers). No scar can be completely removed, but many can be improved to better match surrounding skin and tissue.
